I took 60 hours of individual lessons in 8 days so my experience may be different than most. I studied with Zayra and I can't begin to describe her strengths. She is masterful at pulling out errors, framing them as areas of growth and then providing a lesson or thorough explanation to improve them. She never tired of reviewing difficult concepts in Spanish or novel areas of grammar or usage for me. Her preparation for class was flawless while being able to provide the flexibility to begin teaching about yet another aspect of the subjunctive or other grammar when I made another mistake. She was able to toggle seamlessly between practicing grammar, coaching me on pronunciation and bringing humor into the lesson, making for a richer learning experience. The classroom was conducive to learning but more importantly than the classroom was the school/family environment. Being an older student I had great trepidation about being surrounded by "grandchildren". However, the
intergenerational exchange was priceless. Twice daily there was great coffee and croissants. It really made the day go by faster. Mario who is really the soul of the school functions as the person who can fix everything and seemingly answer all questions. He cooks, makes coffee, tells great stories and provides ongoing support and humor. Valerie in the office is awesome. She not only is caring and efficient but really makes herself available to help. This may sound too good to be true but this was my experience at the school. I have been to many Intensive Spanish Programs in my life but this one tops them all. Please consider giving yourself the best possible opportunity to learn Spanish and come study here. You certainly won't regret it!
